It’s hard to know where to begin, after a full month has
gone by with no update. I’ll put together a few snippets of information,
supported by a few photos of final outings on "Bechod".
In essence,
we’re all had a pretty busy time. Events include:
- A visit by a choir
from North Carolina to Darlington, involving us in hosting eight members
overnight. Their itinerary was Heathrow to Cornwall to the Lake District
to Darlington to Norwich to Heathrow, all in about 6 days. But the luggage
each singer had brought – more than most people would move house
with!
- Mum’s church
held a coffee morning in our conservatory (the normal venue, Haughton
Methodist Church, is being rebuilt). Although Mum was pretty stressed
about it for days (or weeks) before, it was excellent and not many more
could have squeezed in.
- Jen has been away
to Grinton in Swaledale for a week with school – her annual pilgrimage.
Perfect weather and a wonderful time. She has also been away for a Framework
Trust conference, and stayed with Lis and Andy on the way home for a
few days.
- Steve took the
CYFA gang out for a boat trip – from Kafiga (Hartlepool fish quay)
into the marina, swap crew and back again. All very pleasant, but windy.
- Bechod is sold
– now in Pembrokeshire. Quite a wrench, but we’re now on
the lookout for something with toilets and beds.
- Friday 11th July
is Steve’s last day at Abbey Hill. It’s been a lovely half
term, and I hope to return soon…
- Keith has returned
to the UK and is now based in the Newcastle office for a while, so we’re
seeing more of him as he lives here during the week.
I’m sure I’ll add to this as I go through photographs, but
I’m stopping here for now. We’re all well and looking forward
to holidays!
